I earned my B.A. in Art from the University of Massachusetts, Boston is 1983 and my M.F.A. from Cornell University in 1985.  I received my teaching certification from the University of North Texas in 1998 and began teaching art in the Denton Independent School District in the fall of that year.  I taught at McMath Middle School from 1998 until 2005.  I have been teaching art at John Guyer High School since its opening in 2005.

In my recent paintings, I have begun to manipulate space in order to create a more visionary world that is both sweeping and poetic.  All the while, I have tried to maintain the realistic style derived from my observation and memory,
